Terms of use

These are the terms of use of the website batmeleh.com and the “Bat Meleh” app (together, the “portal”). They are offered by Individual entrepreneur Shepitko Mariia Mikhailovna (the “editorial team”). By signing up or signing in you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. You can read the portal without an account; posting on the forum and commenting require registration.

If you do not agree with the terms, please do not register and do not use the forum or comments.

We do not tolerate any of the following on the portal. This is not “we will try to prevent it” — it is a rule without exceptions:

• insults and harassment — aimed at any person, group of people, the editorial team or the project;
• hostile and discriminatory content — demeaning people because of their nationality, faith, sex, age, health or any other characteristic, calls for hatred or violence;
• obscene material — explicit, shocking or indecent text, images and links;
• threats — including “jokes”;
• spam and advertising — mailings, promotion of goods, services and pages, requests to “message me privately”;
• other people’s personal data — addresses, phone numbers, photos and correspondence without the person’s consent;
• deception — pretending to be another person or the editorial team, misleading others;
• anything the law forbids.

Disagreeing and arguing is fine. Being rude, demeaning or pressuring is not.

The editorial team reviews posts: new forum topics and replies and comments on articles. Part of the review is automatic — a program assesses the text before it is published, and anything doubtful is read by a person. It usually takes under a minute.

The editorial team may decline to publish, hide or delete a post that breaks these rules. If your post is not published, you will see that on the post itself.

Next to every topic, forum reply and article comment there is a “!” icon — under it is the “Report” button. Press it if you see a violation. The report goes to the editorial team immediately.

We review reports within 24 hours. A post that breaks the rules is deleted. An author who breaks them is excluded from the portal — their account is blocked.

If it is urgent or the button did not help, write to us at batmelekh@yandex.com.

The same menu under the “!” icon has a “Block author” button. After you block someone you no longer see their messages and comments — not on the forum, not under articles, not on their profile. The editorial team is notified about every block and checks whether it needs to act.

You can block any member except the editorial team. The list of blocked authors and the “Unblock” button are in your profile, under “Blocked users”.

Depending on the violation, the editorial team deletes the post, warns the author or excludes them by blocking the account. Serious violations (threats, harassment, hostile or obscene material, spam) lead to exclusion at once, without a warning.

If you think you were excluded by mistake, write to batmelekh@yandex.com — we will look into it and reply.

You are responsible for what you write. By posting you confirm that it is yours and does not infringe anyone’s rights, and you allow the portal to show it to other members. The rights to your text stay with you.

What you write on the forum is visible to every visitor of the portal, not only to registered members. Write as if anyone could read it. Details are in the privacy policy.

You can delete your account yourself at any time: on the website — “My profile” → “Delete account” (page /en/profile/delete/), in the app — “More” → “Delete account”. You need to enter your email and confirm. Deletion cannot be undone; what exactly is deleted is described on that page.

We may update these terms. The current version always lives at batmeleh.com/en/legal/terms/.
